Product overview
Ultraray Radiation Protection, Inc. offers standard L-Block shield lead caves designed to enhance localized radiation shielding in nuclear medicine and radiopharmacy work areas. These lead caves are typically positioned around L-Block shields to provide lateral protection during dose preparation and handling.
Each unit ships in three sections to simplify transport and installation: a 150 lb front section and two 112 lb side sections. The components are securely bolted together on-site, allowing controlled assembly within the hot lab environment.
Lead caves are available in raw lead, coated lead, or encapsulated stainless steel configurations. Customers may choose solid lead encased in steel or interlocking lead bricks encased in steel depending on shielding and structural requirements. Any thickness of lead can be specified to suit the application.
As with all Ultraray products, custom L-Block shield cave designs can be engineered and manufactured to meet specific facility layouts and shielding requirements. These lead caves are intended to be used as part of a broader radiation protection strategy and should be coordinated with surrounding shielding elements and workflow needs.
