Frequently Asked Questions

 

What is the density of lead? Lead has a density of 0.40969 lbs per cubic inch or 11,340 kg per cubic metre. This is the default value the calculator uses unless an alloy composition is specified.

Can I calculate weight for multiple pieces? The calculator returns the weight for a single piece based on your dimensions. To get a total for multiple pieces, simply multiply the result by your quantity.

What units can I use? The calculator supports inches, millimetres, centimetres, metres, and feet. Select your preferred unit directly alongside each dimension field.

What if my lead contains other metals? Use the optional alloy composition fields to enter the percentage of each metal in your material. The calculator will adjust the total weight accordingly. If left blank, the result defaults to 100% lead.
