Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario is in the midst of major expansion.  Recently, the hospital added two new CT scanning rooms to its diagnostic imaging department.  Ultraray, whose head office is located in neighbouring Oakville, was asked to provide the lead shielding for these two rooms.

Ultraray worked with the general contractor to determine the hospital’s shielding requirements.  In total, Ultraray supplied over 1,000 square feet (approx. 10,000 lbs) of sheet lead to the contractor as well as lead angles, which provide further shielding behind the studs.  Additionally, Ultraray provided a series of lead lined doors and frames as well as a lead glass viewing window in each control room.

The new CT scanners will enable Joseph Brant Hospital to deliver greater service and care to residents of Halton Region and beyond.  Ultraray takes great pride in being given the opportunity to supply its shielding solutions to a local hospital.
