Administrators of the New Oakville Hospital scheduled to open on December 13th, 2015 were perplexed upon realizing that two rooms in their nuclear wing required further lead lining. Running on a tight schedule they needed a solution and quick. Enter Ultraray, also located in Oakville, Ontario. Ultraray worked in conjunction with EllisDon to provide a solution.

In only 8 days, Ultraray designed and implemented a solution. Walls were lined with 3/8 inches of lead interlocking bricks. Approximately 502 bricks were held in place by our custom designed support bars. After installation, our construction team ensured the room was left spotless.

This job is yet another example of Ultraray supporting the Halton community. We take great pride in ensuring that our community receives the best medical care possible and that hospital staff are given a safe working environment.

Hi Jeff, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the tremendous effort put in by your company.  The issue of additional lead protection within a finished patient room came up just prior to patient opening, and you and Jason were a huge help in developing and implementing a solution.  You beat your original timelines by about two weeks, on a three-week schedule, which is an impressive feat.

I took a look at the rooms yesterday with the client and the inspector and everyone was very impressed with the installation.  Your guys also did a great job cleaning up – I couldn’t even tell that you’d been there.

Please extend my thanks to everyone involved.  I’ll definitely keep you in mind for any similar work in the future.

Regards, Jason
